On July 15, the 27th Qinghai-China Investment and Trade Fair for Green Development was opened in Xining, Qinghai Province. Yang Zhen, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, delivered an address and announced the opening. Wu Xiaojun, Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Qinghai Provincial People’s Congress, gave a welcoming speech. Luo Dongchuan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and Governor of Qinghai Province, presided over the ceremony, and Gongbao Zhaxi, Chairman of the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, attended the event. Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, was invited to attend and speak at the opening ceremony.

Yang Zhen stated that President Xi Jinping has always attached great importance to Qinghai’s development, emphasizing the need to continuously advance ecological protection and high-quality development on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and strive to write a distinctive chapter for Qinghai in the Chinese modernization drive. Qinghai should further leverage the platform effect of the Qinghai Fair, fulfill its missions and forge ahead in ecological protection and high-quality development of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and explore new paths and accumulate new experience for national ecological civilization development.

On behalf of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee, the Qinghai Provincial Government and all ethnic groups across the province, Wu Xiaojun extended a warm welcome to guests from home and abroad. He noted that Qinghai has fully implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s major requirements for Qinghai’s work, actively integrated into and served the new development pattern, and made decisive progress in building a new modernized Qinghai. He invited guests from all over the world to participate in Qinghai’s development, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and pursue win-win development at a higher level.

In his speech, Chen Dexin first congratulated the successful opening of the Qinghai Fair and expressed gratitude to the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee and the Qinghai Provincial Government for their long-term trust, support and assistance to China Minmetals. He said that in recent years, guided by General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on accelerating the construction of a world-class salt lake industrial base, China Minmetals and the Qinghai provincial authorities have established an all-round collaborative mechanism featuring regular high-level consultations, task-force implementation and integrated resource allocation. The two sides have worked together to build a world-class resource security hub, jointly tackle key global salt lake industry challenges, and develop world-class salt lake enterprises, translating the important instructions into actionable roadmaps, task lists and tangible results. Facing a new era and a new journey, China Minmetals will fully dedicate itself to the development of a world-class salt lake industrial base, coordinating the efficient development and utilization of potassium, lithium, and magnesium resources to effectively safeguard China's energy, resource, and food security. It will solidly advance the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial innovation, vigorously drive the breakthrough of the metal-magnesium integrated project, and continuously transform resources into materials, materials into products, and products into industries, to build a modern salt lake industrial system. The Qinghai Fair is themed “Open Cooperation · Green Development”. Marking the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, it includes 17 events with characteristics across three major categories. China Salt Lake, an affiliate of China Minmetals, co-organized the exhibition area themed “Accelerating the Construction of a World-Class Salt Lake Industrial Base”, covering 1,000 square meters. The exhibition showcases China Minmetals’ achievements in implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions, honoring its original mission of serving and strengthening the nation through mining, and advancing high-quality development of the salt lake industrial base.
