On July 8, Zhu Kebing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, Director and General Manager of China Minmetals, held working talks with Zhang Yanbao, Deputy Secretary of the Baiyin Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Baiyin City, in Lanzhou, Gansu Province, and attended the Baiyin Investment Promotion Conference held during the 32nd Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair. Li Peixing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Gansu Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, and Yun Jianmin, Vice Chairman of the Gansu CPPCC, attended the event. Wang Bin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Baiyin Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of Baiyin Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd., Standing Committee members Ge Yonghong, Hu Jianwei and Wang Zhipeng, as well as Wang Xingquan, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice General Manager of China Minmetals, attended the talks and the promotion event.

Zhu Kebing expressed gratitude to the Baiyin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government for their long-term care and support for China Minmetals. He pointed out that China Minmetals has consistently stayed true to its mission of serving the nation and bolstering the advancement of China’s mining sector. Over its 76 years of development, China Minmetals has evolved into a modern metals and mining conglomerate built around five core competitive strengths: abundant resource reserves, integrated core operations, diversified industrial portfolio, global operational footprint, and extensive large-scale industrial layout. He noted that China Minmetals and Baiyin Nonferrous signed a strategic cooperation agreement last year and jointly established the Gansu Branch of the National Technology Innovation Center for Efficient Development of Strategic Rare Metal Minerals. This milestone signifies a new chapter of comprehensive, in-depth collaboration between the two sides, with encouraging early results. He expressed the hope that both sides would build on existing cooperation, further leverage the platform of the Gansu Branch Innovation Center, and give full play to their respective resource endowments and industrial advantages. The two sides will deepen full-industry-chain cooperation in mineral resource development, raw material trading, smelting and processing, and logistics services, while expanding collaboration in emerging fields such as new energy, new materials, and green and low-carbon development. He called for joint efforts and complementary strengths to promote in-depth and substantive central-local coordinated development.

Zhang Yanbao extended a warm welcome to Zhu Kebing and his delegation. He stated that as a leading industrial central state-owned enterprise, China Minmetals has consistently demonstrated due social responsibility and set a benchmark for the industry. The Corporation’s core businesses are highly compatible with Baiyin’s development strategy of strengthening the city through industrial growth and innovation-driven advancement. He hoped the two sides would seize this opportunity to scale up pragmatic cooperation among China Minmetals, Baiyin Nonferrous, and their affiliated enterprises, aligning with Baiyin's new industrialization drive. Together, they could accelerate the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, nurture emerging industries, and write a new chapter in central-local collaborative development.

Following the talks, Zhu Kebing attended the Baiyin Investment Promotion Conference at the 32nd Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair. Wang Xingquan delivered a speech at the fair on behalf of China Minmetals. China Minmetals and Baiyin Nonferrous signed an in-depth strategic cooperation agreement. Meanwhile, five project-specific cooperation agreements were inked between China ENFI Engineering Corporation, Changsha Institute of Mining Research, Hunan Nonferrous Metals, Minmetals Futures and Baiyin Nonferrous together with its subsidiaries.

Relevant officials from the Baiyin Municipal Party Committee, Baiyin Municipal Government and Baiyin Nonferrous, as well as relevant department and enterprise leaders from China Minmetals, attended the above events.
