From June 3 to 4, Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, conducted research, carried out work safety inspections, and visited and extended greetings to frontline cadres and employees at Minmetals Beryllium Industry and Shuikoushan Nonferrous Metals under Hunan Nonferrous Metals. Wang Xingquan, members of the Party Leadership Group and Vice General Managers of China Minmetals, accompanied the visit.

Chen Dexin successively visited the smelting furnaces, warehouses and laboratories of Minmetals Beryllium Industry, learning in detail about the enterprise’s strategic planning, production and operation, scientific and technological innovation, resource support and other matters. He went deep into the operation sites of the 12th and 15th levels underground at Kangjiawan Mine of Shuikoushan Nonferrous Metals. He focused on inspecting key links such as underground ventilation, power supply lines and safety control, carefully checked the team safety inspection ledgers, and conducted on-site supervision over work safety. He also held face-to-face exchanges with on-duty mining workers, extended cordial greetings to frontline staff, urged all personnel to strictly follow operating procedures and implement self-protection measures. He required the enterprises to uphold a people-oriented philosophy, regularly listen to employees’ demands, and earnestly resolve difficulties in their work and daily lives.

Chen Dexin stressed that we must thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions, instructions and directives on work safety, earnestly deliver the requirements set forth at the national work safety video conference and the deployment of the work safety video conference for central enterprises. We need to draw profound lessons from recent work safety accidents, strictly enforce the Eight Hard Measures for Mine Safety, and take the Work Safety Month campaign as an opportunity to further strengthen all staff’s safety awareness. We shall fully implement a safety management system centered on the work safety responsibility system. With a sense of responsibility that never lets our guard down and a pragmatic, results-driven work style, we will maintain steady and orderly work safety performance, conduct rigorous and detailed inspections and rectification of risks and hidden dangers, shore up the line of defense for work safety, and continuously raise the intrinsic safety level of operations. We should leverage the resource strengths of Shuikoushan, a century-old mine, balance safety with production and exploration with development, steadily advance deep prospecting and the construction of intelligent mines, and earnestly shoulder the mission of safeguarding the supply and security of national metal and mineral resources. We shall systematically review technical and industrialization needs and scale up key scientific research efforts. By taking proactive initiatives and tackling challenges in resource reservation, smelting technologies, and intensive processing, we will pool superior resources to break through technical bottlenecks, enhance product added value, and strengthen control over the industrial chain. We must firmly establish the philosophy of intensive resource utilization, adhere to the principles of prioritizing conservation and efficient use, strive to improve the comprehensive utilization and recovery rates of resources, and minimize resource waste to the greatest extent possible. We will accelerate the promotion and application of new green smelting technologies and equipment, focus on the transition toward intelligent, green, and high-efficiency development, empower the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and achieve the organic integration of resource development with ecological protection, as well as the alignment of economic and environmental benefits. We will effectively carry out education on fostering and practicing a correct view of performance achievements, uphold scientific decision-making and solid work practices, and deliver more down-to-earth tasks that lay a solid foundation and serve long-term development. We will continue to advance comprehensive and rigorous Party self-governance in depth, strengthen the work style and team building of cadres, strictly uphold bottom lines and red lines, rally the collective strength of all staff for entrepreneurship, and drive the high-quality development of the enterprise.
