On June 3, China Minmetals held an on-site promotion meeting in Hengyang, Hunan Province, for the special campaign focused on digital & smart production line upgrades. Chen Dexin, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of China Minmetals, attended and addressed the meeting. Gui Weihua, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at Central South University, delivered a keynote report. Officials from Bureau of Scientific and Technological Innovation of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), along with Zhu Jian, Secretary of the Hengyang Municipal Committee of the CPC, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Wang Xingquan, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of China Minmetals, presided over the event.
At the meeting, the attendees thoroughly studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important directives on developing new quality productive forces and building a manufacturing powerhouse. The meeting carried out the decisions and plans of the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council regarding the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing sector. Focusing on the transformation and upgrading of China Minmetals’ core businesses, the meeting fostered consensus and pooled collective strength through benchmarking and the sharing of best practices. It also deployed a special initiative to advance the digital and intelligent upgrading of production lines, mobilized the entire organization to tackle challenges and achieve breakthroughs, and promoted the enhancement of quality and efficiency in the digital and intelligent transformation of production lines to empower the company's high-quality development.
In his speech, Chen Dexin pointed out that the deep integration of digital technologies with the real economy represents an irresistible trend of the times, and that intelligent transformation serves as a key measure for the real economy to achieve breakthrough upgrades and sustainable, steady development. He emphasized that all units across China Minmetals should further raise their political standing, fully recognize the importance and urgency of advancing the digital and intelligent upgrading of production lines, align with national development priorities, follow industry trends, and base their efforts on actual development conditions, so as to seize opportunities and take the initiative in the new round of industrial revolution. The convening of this on-site promotion meeting marks the official launch of China Minmetals’ special campaign for the digital and intelligent upgrading of production lines. Chen stressed that all subsidiaries should adopt a problem-oriented approach, accurately identify prominent challenges in the digital and intelligent transformation of production lines, and focus on the development goals for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. By strengthening top-level design, emphasizing scenario-driven innovation, advancing tiered cultivation, consolidating data foundations, and coordinating supporting policies, China Minmetals will fully implement key digital and intelligent upgrading tasks. Meanwhile, solid efforts will be made in overall organization, talent recruitment and training, supervision and assessment, and atmosphere building to provide strong support for the digital and intelligent upgrading of production lines.
Officials from Bureau of Scientific and Technological Innovation of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) commended China Minmetals for its remarkable achievements in the tiered cultivation of smart factories and the in-depth advancement of digital and intelligent transformation. They put forward work expectations for China Minmetals from three perspectives: serving national strategies, making breakthroughs in core technologies, and deepening collaborative cooperation.
Zhu Jian expressed gratitude for China Minmetals’ achievements in intelligent transformation, which have empowered and boosted the local development of new quality productive forces. He expressed hope to further deepen central-local coordination to achieve mutually beneficial and win-win results.
At the meeting, Chen Dexin, together with representatives from six enterprises—China ENFI Engineering Corporation, Changsha Institute of Mining Research, MCC Jingcheng, MCC CISDI, MCC Wisdri Engineering & Research, and Zhongye Changtian International Engin—jointly launched the Industrial Internet Ecological Co-creation Initiative. The meeting released the Work Plan for the Special Action to Enhance Digitalization and Intelligence of China Minmetals’ Production Lines along with the cultivation list for smart factories, and held a signing ceremony for supply-demand cooperation on production line digital and intelligent transformation. Five entities—Hunan Nonferrous Metals, China Tungsten High-tech Materials, China ENFI Engineering Corporation, MCC CISDI, and Shanghai Baoye—shared their work experience at the event.
Before the meeting, the participating leaders and guests visited the exhibition showcasing China Minmetals’ achievements in the digital and intelligent upgrading of production lines.
The meeting was held in a hybrid format, combining on-site and video conference participation. Relevant officials from the Department of Raw Materials Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, from Hengyang City and Changning City, as well as heads of relevant headquarters departments and subordinate enterprises of China Minmetals, attended the meeting.
