China Minmetals Corporation 2026-05-13
On May 13, Chen Dexin, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, carried out an inspection of MCC International to oversee the implementation of corrective measures in response to prior findings. He also took the opportunity to extend his greetings to the cadres and staff. Wang Jiezhi, Deputy Party Secretary and Director of China Minmetals, and Cheng Yong, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager, were present during the inspection.
Chen Dexin received a briefing on the work of MCC International, obtaining a detailed understanding of the company's general profile, operational measures and achievements, future development plans, and the status of inspection-related rectifications. He commended the tangible results achieved through multifaceted efforts in turning losses into profits, improving the management system, and strengthening the talent team. He further urged MCC International to continuously consolidate and enhance its four core competitive advantages, leadership in international business, high-end operations, localized services, and emergency management and risk control, in order to solidify its development foundation. Additionally, he directed the company to further correct its approach, step up rectification efforts, and ensure that genuine and thorough rectification is fully carried out.
Chen Dexin stressed the imperative of thoroughly studying and implementing the important directives issued by General Secretary Xi Jinping concerning the work of central state-owned enterprises. He called for staying true to our mission and responsibilities, clearly defining our role and positioning, and leveraging the company's core competitive advantages. He also urged further specification of the business scope, clear demarcation of authority and responsibility boundaries, and full realization of the platform's value. Additionally, he emphasized the need to continuously refine business-led collaborative mechanisms, exercise selectivity in undertaking self-operated projects, strengthen the local service responsibilities of regional representative offices, and steadily improve the overseas local emergency support system. We shall diligently advance education and learning aimed at establishing and practicing a correct view of performance achievements, while deepening efforts to exercise comprehensive and strict Party governance. With a close focus on prominent issues identified in inspection rectification, we shall strengthen political alignment and benchmarking. We shall leverage cases to promote governance and draw broader lessons, strictly enforce the "three lists and one process" work mechanism, and take resolute, substantive actions to ensure thorough rectification. Ultimately, genuine rectification outcomes must serve to safeguard the high-quality development of the enterprise. We shall strengthen the modernization of the governance system and governance capacity — solidly advancing institutional building while fully implementing and refining all tasks for the "Year of Management Improvement." We shall build a cadre and talent team characterized by steadfast adherence to Party principles, consensus-building, action alignment, and a pragmatic work style — ensuring they are "eager to act, capable of acting, able to deliver results, and free from misconduct" — while advancing enterprise reform and development with selflessness and impartiality. Furthermore, a scientific approach must be taken in planning the cadre and talent cultivation system, with intensified efforts to develop internationally-oriented and versatile talent teams, thereby strengthening the talent foundation for accelerating the establishment of a world-class metal mining enterprise group with global competitiveness.
The heads of the relevant departments at China Minmetals' headquarters participated in the inspection.
