On January 9, China Minmetals held its first meeting of 2026 for the Leading Group for Ecological Environmental Protection and Carbon Peak & Carbon Neutrality. Chen Dexin, Party Secretary, Chairman, and Leader of the Leading Group for Ecological Environmental Protection and Carbon Peak & Carbon Neutrality of China Minmetals, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhu Kebing, Deputy Party Secretary, Director, General Manager, and Deputy Leader of the Leading Group, along with other members of the leadership team, attended the meeting.

The meeting conveyed and studied General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on ecological civilization construction, listened to the report on China Minmetals' 2025 environmental protection work, and researched and deployed key environmental protection tasks for the first quarter of 2026.

The meeting pointed out that ecological environmental protection is the foundation of national survival and development, concerning ecological security, people's well-being, and sustainable development. As a central enterprise, China Minmetals must resolutely shoulder the political and social responsibilities of ecological environmental protection and continuously promote green transformation to achieve high-quality development.

The meeting emphasized the need to deeply comprehend the important instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding the work of central enterprises. It is essential to firmly establish and practice the philosophy that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets." Ecological environmental protection should be advanced with a high degree of political, ideological, and active awareness, resolutely fulfilling the responsibilities and missions of a central enterprise to better serve the overall work of the Party and the state, high-quality economic and social development, and the social responsibility of improving people's livelihoods. A collective management effort should be formed to give full play to the professional advantages of environmental management and technical talents. The strength of the China Minmetals Science and Technology Committee's professional committees and research institutes should be consolidated to jointly study and solve practical problems with production enterprises and properly conduct environmental emergency drills. It is necessary to strengthen the ecological environmental protection work of overseas enterprises, properly conduct training on local environmental laws and regulations for expatriate and foreign employees, enhance the inspection and rectification of potential environmental risk points, and resolutely prevent major environmental pollution incidents.
