Reflecting on the 75-year history, embracing the "15th Five-Year Plan" period — On October 28, as part of its 75th anniversary celebration series, China Minmetals held a seminar in honor of the Double Ninth Festival with the theme of "Cherishing Senior Colleagues on Double Ninth Festival, Recalling the Original Aspiration and Pursuing Development under Party Leadership", extending holiday greetings and blessings to the company’s retired leaders and senior colleagues.

Prior to the seminar, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals,  together with Zhu Kebing, Deputy Party Group Secretary, Director and President of China Minmetals, met with the retired leaders and senior colleagues, thanking them for their long-term care and strong support for the reform and development of China Minmetals. Chen Dexin stated that after 75 years of development, China Minmetals has established advantages in an integrated industrial chain spanning resource exploration, design and construction, development and operation, smelting and processing, trade and logistics, technology industry, and financial capital. The company has been continuously enhancing its core functions and competitiveness, refocusing on its main businesses, repositioning its industries, and consolidating resources, thus accelerating the building of a world-class metals and minerals enterprise group with global competitiveness.

At the seminar, Wang Jiezhi, Party Group Deputy Secretary and Director, delivered a speech on behalf of Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals. The event was chaired by Cheng Yong, Party Group Member and Vice President, who also reported on the achievements of China Minmetals' reform and development as well as the activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary.

Wang Jiezhi stated that the Party organizations at all levels of China Minmetals have thoroughly implemented the important expositions of  General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work of veteran cadres, and have been working with precision and dedication to deliver practical services,  perform good deeds, and resolve challenging issues for our retired comrades. With a grateful heart of "never forgetting those who dug the well when drinking water", the company has been committed to serving its retired cadres with sincerity, compassion, and vigor, so as to tap into the "silver-haired wisdom" and "silver-haired potential" on a broader scale.

Wang Jiezhi pointed out that since the beginning of this year, in accordance with the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the Party Group of China Minmetals has carefully reviewed the implementation of the "14th Five-Year Plan", extensively solicited opinions and suggestions from the majority of Party members, cadres and employees, and systematically advanced the formulation of the overall plan and industrial plans for the 15th Five-Year Plan under the "1+N+X" framework. It is hoped that the retired leaders and senior comrades would continue to serve as exemplars in upholding a firm political stance, senior advisors in promoting reform and development, models in carrying forward fine traditions, and backbones in maintaining harmony and stability, and work together to write a new chapter for China Minmetals during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.

During the meeting, eight representatives of retired cadres exchanged views on topics including "Reflecting on the past 75 years and looking forward to the '15th Five-Year Plan' period," "Talking about development changes and praising brilliant achievements", "Supporting enterprise development with silver-haired potential", and "continuing to contribute their invaluable experience to enterprise development". In addition, two key young and middle-aged personnel expressed their firm determination to continue striving in their speeches.

The seminar was attended by 23 retired leaders and senior comrades, 10 representatives of key young and middle-aged personnel, and heads of relevant departments of the headquarters.
