China Minmetals Corporation 2025-06-20
On June 14, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, met with Wang Weiping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Party Committee. The two sides exchanged views on deepening the cooperation between central state-owned enterprises and local governments. Xu Jiqing, Party Group Member and Senior Vice President of China Minmetals, attended the meeting.
Chen Dexin thanked the Party Committee and Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for their care and support for the operation and development of local subsidiaries of China Minmetals in Guangxi, and briefly introduced the history and development of China Minmetals. He said that since its founding in 1950, China Minmetals has evolved from a specialized foreign trade entity into a globally competitive metals and minerals conglomerate, establishing a business system focused on metals & minerals, metallurgical engineering, technology development, trade & logistics, financial services and real estate. The company has developed a competitive edge through full-chain integration of the metal and minerals industrial chain. It owns 9 listed companies and its business covers more than 60 countries and regions around the world. In recent years, China Minmetals has thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches, directives and instructions, and resolutely upheld its founding mission of “serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry”. It pushed for active progress in a number of projects that the CPC Central Committee has paid close attention to, such as the Bangbas Copper Mine in Peru, and successfully formed China Salt Lake, better fulfilling its responsibility and mission of ensuring national mineral resources and food security. China Minmetals attaches great importance to the strategic cooperation with Guangxi, and is willing to carry out the practical and friendly cooperation between the two sides in a larger scope, at a deeper and higher level, and in wider areas, under the principle of central-local coordination, with a focus on mineral resources development, product technology upgrading, trade and logistics, engineering construction and other fields, striving to make greater contributions to the high-quality economic and social development of Guangxi.
Wang Weiping said that Guangxi is well-known as the home to nonferrous metal, boasting rich mineral reserves and a wide variety of mineral resources. At present, Guangxi is stepping up efforts to formulate the five-year action plan for promoting the high-quality development of the non-ferrous metal industry, so as to promote cluster-based, scaled, green, digital and high-quality development of the non-ferrous metal industry. The cooperation between Guangxi and China Minmetals is all-round, and wide-ranging, with a solid foundation and broad space. It is hoped that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in multiple fields, including the development of key mineral resources, the optimization of the layout of the non-ferrous metal industry, and the upgrading of technology-enabled industries, so as to help the high-quality development of Guangxi's non-ferrous metal industry. Guangxi will, as always, provide good service guarantee for the development of China Minmetals in Guangxi.
Before the meeting, the both sides visited China Minmetals’ Metals & Mining and Science & Technology Achievement Exhibition.
Officials from the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, leaders of China Minmetals' headquarters departments and directly-managed enterprises attended the meeting.
