On December 18, 2024, China Minmetals held a meeting with Chongqing Municipal People's Government in Beijing. Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, and Zheng Xiangdong, Party Group Member of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and Vice Mayor of Chongqing, attended the meeting and conducted in-depth discussions. Zhu Kebing, Party Group Member and Senior Vice President of China Minmetals, attended the meeting. 

Chen Dexin expressed his gratitude to Chongqing City for its strong support for the development of China Minmetals over the long term, and briefly introduced the basic status of China Minmetals. Chen noted that China Minmetals had always followed the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and firmly undertaken its original mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry". He said that China Minmetals had taken the lead in opening up a whole industry chain channel from resource acquisition to exploration & survey, design & construction, mining & beneficiation, smelting & processing, and to trade & logistics, creating a comprehensive competitive advantage. At present, China Minmetals is earnestly studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and actively implementing the guiding principles of Central Economic Work Conference and Science & Technology Innovation Conference on Central Stated-owned Enterprises. To be specific, it is prioritizing technological innovation as the driving force behind industrial innovation and promoting the integration of the "four chains" through the "five focuses." It is dedicated to enhancing the transformation of technological advancements into industrial applications, and turning raw materials into high-quality, practical, and reliable outputs. At the same time, it is continuously enhancing its core functions, improving its core competitiveness and focusing on playing the "three roles" of central state-owned enterprises in technological innovation, industrial control and safety support. China Minmetals and Chongqing City share a solid foundation for cooperation, with the company's key business development plans aligning closely with Chongqing's key industrial priorities. Therefore, Chen hoped that the two sides would further expand areas of cooperation, establish precise alignment, and innovate cooperation modes, so as to drive high-quality development in sectors such as mineral resources, advanced manufacturing, and advanced materials, make greater contributions to implementing national strategies and set a new benchmark for cooperation between central SOEs and local governments. 

Zheng Xiangdong expressed admiration for the remarkable achievements made by China Minmetals and extended his gratitude for the company's significant contributions to Chongqing's economic and social development over the years. He noted that Chongqing was earnestly studying and implementing the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions during his visit to Chongqing, as well as the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Guided by the overarching goal of "striving to write a new chapter of Chinese modernization in Chongqing", the city is advancing its work with determination. Zheng also expressed his hope that the two sides would jointly drive institutional reforms to foster innovation, accelerate the industrialization and commercialization of innovation achievements, and deepen cooperation in areas such as mineral resource project planning and spot & futures trading, yielding even greater collaborative outcomes. 

The meeting was attended by the relevant officials from Chongqing Municipal People's Government, as well as leaders of China Minmetals' head offices and affiliated enterprises.
