On March 3, China Minmetals President Zhou Zhongshu, Senior Vice President Zhang Yuanrong and CFO Shen Ling met with Zhang Chunxian, Secretary of the Hunan Provincial CPC Committee, and Zhou Qiang, Governor of Hunan Province, both of whom came to Beijing to attend the National People's Congress (NPC) and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). The two sides exchanged views on the development of the enterprises under Minmetals in Hunan.

President Zhou extended a warm welcome to Secretary Zhang and Governor Zhou and expressed his sincere gratitude to the great support Hunan Provincial CPC Committee and the Provincial Government had rendered to China Minmetals. He introduced to the two leaders the comments from the outside world on China Minmetals' reorganization of Hunan Nonferrous Metals Corporation Limited, the progress made by the new Hunan Nonferrous Metals, and the business performances of Ershisanye Construction Group Co., Ltd. and Hunan Ferro-alloy Co., Ltd. in 2009. Presient Zhou said that the clear strategy and top-class service of Hunan provincial government had strengthened China Minmetals' determination and confidence for its development in Hunan, and China Minmetals would seize the favorable opportunity to do a good job in the integration of Hunan Nonferrous Metals Corporation Limited at the year of "Kicking Off".

According to Secretary Zhang, the strong-strong alliance of China Minmetals and Hunan Nonferrous Metals Corporation Limited had not only actively responded to China's call on industrial restructuring and revitalization, but also complied with the interests of China Minmetals and Hunan Province. The cooperation between the two sides had been widely praised in the industry and everything went smoothly so far. It is believed that tangible results will be achieved over the next step. He hoped that Minmetals could accelerate its wok and yield results as early as possible, so as to establish a model of successful cooperation for the industry and the enterprises both inside and outside Hunan Province. Governor Zhou congratulated on the good results Minmetals had achieved in 2009 and put forward requirements for Minmetals during the transitional stage.

Deng Renjie, Deputy Secretary-General of Hunan Provincial CPC Committee; Mo Dewang, Director of Hunan Provincial SASAC; and Zong Qingsheng, Assistant President and General Manager of Investment Management Department of China Minmetals also attended the meeting.
