Zhou Zhongshu, President of China Minmetals Corporation, and Li Fuli, Senior Vice President of the Corporation, attended the symposium on the construction of Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone held by the Jiangxi Provincial CPC Committee of and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province in Beijing recently. President Zhou delivered a speech at the symposium.
Hua Jianmin, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Minister of Science and Technology of PRC also attended the symposium and delivered a keynote speech respectively. Su Rong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Jiangxi Province, gave an introduction to the essence, basic principles, development orientation, main tasks and construction goals of Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone.
In his speech, President Zhou said that as a brand-new initiative, the construction of Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone represented the historic responsibility and aspiration of the people, which conformed to the demand of our times; and meanwhile, it provided China Minmetals with vast space and a valuable opportunity for its development in Jiangxi. He also stated that Chine Minmetals Corporation would actively take part in the construction of Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone to speed up the development of its subsidiaries in Jiangxi and to make more new contributions to the rise of Jiangxi in the nation's Central Region Development Drive. |
