On the afternoon of January 21, President Zhou Zhongshu met with visiting Xstrata CEO Mr. Davis.
President Zhou warmly welcomed Mr. Davis to Minmetals after his first visit in November 2008, reviewed the friendly cooperation between the two sides, and introduced the group's business performance and the acquisition of the core assets of OZ Minerals Limited and the restructuring of Hunan Nonferrous Metals Holding Group Co., Ltd. in 2009. Mr. Davis admired the group's efforts in positively coping with the challenges of the financial crisis, overcoming the impact of market fluctuations and achieving remarkable business results, and shared Xstrata's countermeasures and achievements amid the financial crisis.
Subsequently, the two sides exchanged views on the macroeconomic trends of China and the world, the prospect of the resource market and the respective development plans of the two companies, and expressed the wish to cement cooperation.
Yu Bo, General Manager of the Financial Division of the group; Jiao Jian, Deputy General Manager of Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals Co. Ltd. (in charge of work).; and Liu Leiyun, Managing Director of China National Minerals Co., Ltd. also attended the meeting.
