On December 28, China Minmetals President Zhou Zhongshu, CFO Shen Ling and Senior Vice President Li Fuli visited Zhang Chunxian, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Hunan Province and Governor Zhou Qiang, as well as other leaders of Hunan.
Secretary Zhang Chunxian warmly welcomed President Zhou and his delegation, and expressed happiness about the restructuring of Hunan Nonferrous Metals Holding Group (HNG) with China Minmetals. He also stated that the successful cooperation of China Minmetals and HNG would attain great breakthroughs in consolidating the international and domestic resources, adjusting the domestic nonferrous industrial structure and creating a world-class nonferrous enterprise. Besides, Secretary Zhang spoke highly of the active attitude, strategic philosophy, international perspective and effective work style of China Minmetals. He believed that the cooperation promised a prosperous outlook as it had a good beginning and high starting point.
President Zhou said in his speech that Hunan has advantage in natural resources, and is also strong in processing, smelting as well as building of industrial chain. China Minmetals and HNG will be able to create a world-class enterprise with their advantage in resources such as tungsten, antimony, lead and zinc through their concerted efforts. President Zhou expressed his gratitude to Hunan Provincial CPC Committee and Hunan Provincial Government for their prudent decision after taking the whole picture into consideration. He said that Minmetals would spare no efforts to make the enterprise stronger and bigger, improve the industry concentration, optimize the industry chain and maximize efficiency of resource allocation, and transfer the resource advantage into industrial advantage, further into economic advantage and finally into competitive advantage in the industry. President Zhou expressed his stands to Hunan Provincial CPC Committee and Hunan Provincial Government that China Minmetals will do its best to make the new HNG stronger and better and make contributions to the economic development of Hunan, as well as give due contributions to the development of China¡¯s nonferrous industry.
