China Minmetals Corporation 2025-06-13
On June 4, 2025, Chen Dexin, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, welcomed a visit from Chen Liang, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of China International Capital Corporation Limited ("CICC" for short). The two sides held in-depth discussions on strengthening strategic cooperation and promoting industrial-financial synergy. The meeting was attended by Xu Jiqing, Party Group Member and Senior Vice President of China Minmetals.
Chen Dexin briefly introduced the history and development of China Minmetals, and reviewed the history of friendly cooperation between the two sides. He pointed out that this year marks the 75th anniversary of China Minmetals. Throughout these 75 years, China Minmetals has upheld and pursued its original mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry". It has successfully evolved from its early beginnings as a foreign trade enterprise into a powerhouse with global competitiveness in the metals and minerals industry, with its scope of business covering metals & minerals, metallurgical construction, high-tech industry, trade & logistics, and finance & real estate. In February of this year, China Minmetals, in collaboration with the People's Government of Qinghai Province, successfully established China Salt Lake Group. This move better equips China Minmetals to shoulder its important responsibilities and missions in safeguarding national mineral resource and food security. This achievement was made possible with the help and support of CICC. It was hoped that, based on their past friendly cooperation, both parties would establish and improve communication and coordination mechanisms, further strengthening strategic cooperation in areas such as market value management, mergers and acquisitions, bond financing, information sharing, and talent development. By advancing key tasks in a phased manner, the two sides aim to pool their strengths to better meet the demands of national strategies.
Chen Liang mentioned that since its establishment in the 1990s, CICC has been deeply involved in China's economic reforms and development, actively serving the domestic and overseas financing needs of Chinese enterprises and national strategic initiatives. Currently, CICC has established a business structure known as the "Dual Foundation, Six Pillars", built upon R&D and information technology as its foundations, and supported by six major business segments - investment banking, equity business, fixed income, asset management, private equity, and wealth management. It strives to provide clients with comprehensive financial product services. He expressed hope that both sides would further strengthen communication and coordination, collaborate to serve national strategies, and achieve better development through mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
Other participants included relevant leaders from CICC, as well as leaders of China Minmetals' head offices and directly-managed enterprises.
